Zoning Changes For Lane Cove North

Planning controls have been amended for Lane Cove North to allow for hundreds of new homes while limiting the scale of development which will be allowed in areas facing a greater bushfire risk. The changes follow a joint Department of Planning and Lane Cove Council review of the precinct bounded by Mowbray Road, Centennial Ave, Batten Reserve and Willandra Street in Lane Cove North.

Council submitted a planning proposal to the department on 8 December 2011 to amend zoning, height and floor space ratio controls in the precinct. An amendment to the Lane cove Local Environmental Plan was made on 18 January 2013 which updated the planning controls in the precinct to allow for hundreds of new homes, while limiting the scale of development in areas facing greater bushfire risk.
