On April 30, the Borough Council passed the zoning ordinance that will allow for the development of 32 units of affordable housing and a strip mall anchored by a Wegmans supermaket on DePiero's County Farm.

The Amendment to the Land Use Element and Housing Element and Fair Share Plan of the Borough of Montvale Master Plan rezoned the site to create a Planned Unit Development district that will facilitate the development of a lifestyle retail center and the development of a 32-unit affordable housing project on the site.

Elaine DePiero, who was present at the meeting, is selling her farm that she owns with her husband, Ed, to the S. Hekimian Group of Paramus. The family told the public at the ordinance's introduction on April 9 they could no longer keep it for financial reasons.
