Rezoning Adoptions, Australia, April 2017

Blockbrief's Rezoning Adoption Data showed that there were 34 rezoning instrument adoptions across Australia in April 2017 providing additional capacity for up to 2,783 dwelling units and development projects to generate 1,243 jobs, nationally. This capacity can potentially be realised after development applications/ planning permits and building applications are approved for the respective land, with an estimated staging average of 2.41 years (Min. 0 years and Max. 30 years). The capacity of 2,783 dwellings units made available as a result of rezoning adoptions in April 2017 consisted of 1,514 dwellings (54.4%) and  1,269 lots (45.5%).

 

 

 

 

Looking specifically at the type of rezonings adopted in Australia in April 2017, 35% of them were mixed, 23% residential, 15% commercial, 12% rural, 9% rural and 6% industrial.

 

New South Wales

The 17 rezoning instrument adoptions in New South Wales in April 2017 provide capacity for up to 536 dwelling units and development projects with the potential to generate 1,237 jobs.The estimated staging average is 1.17 years (Min. 0 years and Max. 3 years).

 

Victoria

The 8 rezoning instrument adoptions in Victoria in April 2017 provide capacity for up to 1,097 dwellings units and development projects with the potential to generate 4 jobs. The estimated staging average is 5.75 years (Min. 0 years and Max. 30 years).

 

South Australia

The 4 rezoning instrument adoptions in South Australia in April 2017 provide capacity for up to 1,142 dwelling units and development projects with the potential to generate over 2 jobs. The estimated staging average is 2.75 years (Min. 1 and Max. 5).

 

Tasmania

The 2 rezoning instrument adoption in Tasmania in April 2017 provide capacity for 8 dwelling units and no job generating development projects. The estimated staging average is 2 years (Min. 1 year and Max. 3 year).

 

Queensland

The 1 rezoning instrument adoption in the Queensland in April 2017 provide no capacity for dwelling units and no job generating development projects. The estimated staging average is 1 year (Min. 1 year and Max. 1 year).

 

Australian Capital Territory

The 2 rezoning instrument adoptions in the Australian Capital Territory in April 2017 provide no capacity for dwelling units and no job generating development projects. The estimated staging average is 0 years (Min. 0 years and Max. 0 years).
