Approval has been granted by the NSW Government for Lend Lease’s first two residential buildings, known as Anadara (R8) and Alexander (R9) at Barangaroo, located in the southern precinct on the fringe of Sydney’s CBD.

With a total combined investment value of A$100 million, the NSW Department of Planning commended the proposal for its “design excellence” and appropriateness for a waterfront setting, which will assist in providing an appropriate scaling transition from the foreshore promenade to the high rise commercial buildings behind.

Anadara, designed by Richard Francis-Jones of FJMT, will feature 9-11 storeys and comprise 82 apartments while Alexander designed by Andrew Andersons of PTW will be slightly smaller with 77 apartments, resulting to 158 apartments in total. Both buildings will feature some 1,800 sq.m of retail floorspace and will provide some 600 full-time jobs during construction and approximately 135 ongoing jobs following completion.
