"(Jo) turned her passion for property investing into a blooming business." (Propertywomen.com)

Jo Chivers proves that women can indeed have it all- a career that you are passionate about and a family. While all of this sounds great, it does require hard work, dedication, perseverance and a bit of risk-taking.

Jo’s love of property development inspired her to leave her corporate career and pursue her true passion. After educating herself in property investing, she started building up her own property portfolio. After purchasing a few blue chip properties in Sydney, she soon realised how negatively geared they were and began researching outside of Sydney. She discovered a more affordable, large region of NSW where she completed her first property development. Soon her friends were asking her to find them sites and manage their developments. She realised there was a need for an all encompassing project management service and her business Property Bloom™ was born. Ten years down the track, she has developed over 60 properties for clients, creating literally hundreds of thousands of dollars in equity and high end yields.

I was bitten by the property bug, there was not turning back.”

Jo has co-authored two books, Property is a Girl’s Best Friend and Property Millionaire and has spoken at seminars, appeared in newspapers, magazines and on TV. Jo holds a multi-million dollar property portfolio and runs her successful property development management company; Property Bloom™. What is even more inspiring about Jo is that she accomplished all of the above in the midst of having two children!

Jo is also a weekly contributor to property investment news site Property Observer, providing information and inspiration to anyone interested in property development.

Property Bloom™ provides clients with in-depth research, knowledge, experience and support on investment and development opportunities in the Hunter Region of NSW. Property Bloom™ offers a range of development strategies from granny flat developments right through to medium density projects.

Once we know our client’s goals; to create high yield or equity or both, then we’ll suggest a particular development strategy. We’ll source appropriate sites and run feasibilities. We take care of all the fine details from the initial analysis of the site, renovation (if there is an existing house), designing and planning the project. Once DA & CC are approved, we manage the construction and even help find tenants on completion. We have discount structures with our builders and consultants and clients can save a lot of money not to mention time in using a project manager for their development. It’s a great way for clients to have their hand held through their first development or for time poor or inexperienced investors wanting to take that next step into property developing. They know that all the hard work is being professionally managed for them.” says Jo.
