Due to a high level of public interest, the public exhibition period has been extended for another three weeks for the Urban Activation Precincts at Epping Town Centre and North Ryde Station.

The NSW Department of Planning has extended the public exhibition deadline to 19 May.

We recognise these are significant renewal plans with long term outcomes for both communities and we want people to help shape the future of their areas,” the department’s Director-General Sam Haddad said. “That’s why we’ve extended the deadline for submissions from April 30 to May 19, and I encourage all those interested to visit the department’s website to view these exciting proposals and have their say.’’ The precincts are two of eight initially identified for renewal under the Government’s Urban Activation Precincts program announced last month by the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure Brad Hazzard.

Urban Activation Precincts aim to deliver more modern, vibrant communities with access to infrastructure, transport, services and jobs. It is part of a comprehensive NSW Government plan to provide the housing and jobs Sydney needs. The Epping Town Centre proposal predicts an extra 3,650 residential dwellings and associated retail, commercial, community and local services. The predominantly undeveloped land around North Ryde Station, has a capacity for about 2,500 residential dwellings and 91,000 square metres of commercial and retail floor space with 2,500 jobs.
