A prime site in the Western Australian State Government's Riverside project has gone on the market with expressions of interest sought for a new development to incorporate apartments, shops and local amenities in one complex.

Planning Minister John Day said the 5,335sqm site on the corner of Hay and Plain streets presented a great opportunity for a developer to join the State Government, Lend Lease and Frasers Property Australia in transforming the city’s eastern gateway.

“With potential for retail, residential and commercial accommodation ranging from four to 16-storeys, development of this site - Lot 101 Hay Street - will ensure the new East Perth community has adequate access to a variety of shops and essential services close to where they live,” Mr Day said.
