Altona North, Victoria Commercial Rezoning Proposal

The proposed amendment to Hobsons Bay Planning Scheme C109 seeks to facilitate the use and development of the site for mixed commercial uses by rezoning land from Industrial 3 to Commercial 2.  The site's location is 290-298 Millers Road in Altona North, Victoria, and has a total land area of 23,700 sqm.  The proposed development includes a supermarket and the sale of packaged liquor. The amendment is expected to have positive economic benefits for landowners and Hobsons Bay generally.

The proposal is made by a developer, Folkestone Pty Ltd.  If adopted, the amendment is expected to have positive economic benefits for landowners and Hobsons Bay generally.  Positive economic effects and benefits are expected to accrue from the amendment through increased economic activity and redevelopment of the land for mixed commercial activities and increased choice for commercial activity.
